Ocd test

Living with obsessive thoughts and behaviours can be challenging. Here you can do a self-test to see if you have symptoms that may need treatment.

This self-test is inspired by DSM-5 criteria for OCD and parts of the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS). It is not a substitute for a professional diagnosis, but can give a first indication of whether you have signs of OCD. Answer based on how you have been feeling in recent months. Tests take about 3 minutes to complete.

What should I do if I have symptoms of OCD?

If you have symptoms of OCD, you should contact a psychologist or therapist for professional help. There is effective treatment for OCD and it is possible to feel better. At Lavendla, we have experienced psychologists and therapists who can help you. We make the difficult easier.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a condition characterised by obsessive thoughts and compulsive actions. Obsessions are recurrent and intrusive thoughts that create discomfort, while compulsions are repeated behaviours or rituals performed to reduce anxiety. Examples include an excessive fear of dirt and contamination, a need to count or check things, or a strong sense that something ‘doesn’t feel right’. OCD can take up a lot of time and energy and affect everyday life, but there are treatments that can help.
