Background

Many of us reach a crossroads in life but deciding which way to turn can be daunting. And here is where I can help.
I am a qualified and experienced Person-Centred Experiential Therapist. I offer a safe space for you to guide me through your world while I support you to gain clarity around life choices and strengthen your self-esteem and self-reliance in making your desired changes.

As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I observe their Ethical Framework and best practice guidelines within my own practice. I am fully insured. Administration and consent forms will be completed.

Alongside my private practice, I have an extensive and professional background working in prisons with prisoners suffering from addictions and traumas. I provided individual sessions and therapeutic group work based on humanistic and solution-focused approaches. Working alongside these clients has given me valuable experience and insight into mental health issues relating to addiction, confinement, and traumas.

My advice

I will hold a safe space for you to get to know me a little and you can decide if the treatment I can offer is suitable for you.
The assessment process gives you an opportunity to outline presenting issues, influencing your decision to seek therapy. I am interested to hear about your history, the beliefs and values you hold, your hopes; and anything you feel would be beneficial for me at this stage.

Session preparation tips:
Give yourself credit for taking this step
Reserve time just for you before and after the session: preparation and reflections are golden.
Wear something comfy, you will be sitting in the same space for a little while
Ensure your environment is confidential and you are in a safe space
Having water and tissues nearby is always handy
Ask questions and be as open and honest as you feel is safe for you

Sometimes when things are falling apart they may actually be falling into place. (DBSA: Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance).
