Background

My name is Marco Thiele. I am an experienced CBT therapist, licensed healthcare counselor, and social worker with over ten years of experience offering therapy, support, and guidance through life's challenges. Specializing in various anxiety and depressive conditions, grief processing, and family conflict, I use effective therapy methods to create meaningful change in your life.

I only work with evidence-based therapy methods. CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) focuses on changing negative thoughts and behaviors to create positive outcomes. DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) focuses on emotional regulation and relationship management, while ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) promotes acceptance of life's difficulties and commitment to your values.

With my extensive experience of working with couples, adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of sectors including mental health, community, and private practice, I combine this experience with my expertise in different forms of therapy. My focus is on creating a safe, accepting, and supportive environment for my clients. Through collaboration, I endeavor to guide you towards a better quality of life and well-being.

Motivation

When I think back to how my career as a therapist began, I remember my mother telling me at an early age "You always wanted to discuss the world, talk to the adults, and listen to the elders".

Since I was young, I have had a talent for listening, and for wanting to understand and explore the nuances of life. Helping a person to dare to take a step towards their fears and face the beauty behind them makes my life more complete.

I believe that life always has more to give and to learn and that together we can overcome our adversities. Many people achieve great changes in life with just a few words of encouragement, and it's terrible that there are so many of us who never get it. I am happy to be that person for others. To make someone else feel believed in and that there is nothing in life that can't be fixed.

If I can make even one person feel better for a day, that life is manageable, and that they dare to dare to do things differently, to believe in themselves, my life will be enriched with more than words can describe.

For me, it came naturally to want to dedicate my professional life to being there for others. There was never any other option than to want to listen to others, to discuss the world, and to want to understand.

My advice

  • Get up as soon as you wake up and make your bed. It can give you the feeling of productivity and responsibility over your life.
  • Smile at someone on your way to work or hold the door open for a stranger. It can give you a sense of community.
  • Whatever the relationship, write to a person that you appreciate them in your life. Try not to expect anything in return. It can strengthen your relationship with yourself, and with others and give you humility and gratitude.
  • Think about what your values in life are and how you could act on them today, even if it is only one of them. Our well-being deteriorates when we do not act in line with our values.
  • Try to stop sometimes, to stand still in a pedestrian street or a square, and observe the environment around you. Our everyday life is often from point A to point B. Stopping, and standing still can give you the feeling that the world is spinning without you acting in it. Sometimes we need a break, from acting and performing.
