"All people go through crises, sorrows and difficult choices in life. Sometimes things don't turn out the way we planned. It's ok to talk about it and be vulnerable. As a psychotherapist, I help you to talk about the difficulties and discover better perspectives on life going forward."
Hi,
I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in cognitive behavioral therapy. During my years as a psychotherapist in private practice, I have worked with a wide range of clients, including children, adults and couples. I have experience in treating anxiety disorders, trauma/PTSD, self-harm, depression, behavioral problems, relationships, infidelity, jealousy, grief and other difficulties. My background spans both the private and public sectors.
Individual therapy
As a psychotherapist, my profession is characterized by a strong commitment and the ability to tailor my language and tone to the individual needs of each client during therapy. My focus is on exploring and increasing your skills to put your feelings or thoughts into words. I have expertise in several areas of CBT, which can be very helpful for you to approach the goals you want to achieve with your therapy. I have further training in, for example, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and compassion-focused therapy (CFT), which places great emphasis on emotions. My focus is thus to increase your ability to dare to approach your emotions and see them as a force instead of an obstacle.
For trauma or more severe problems - EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
EMDR is a therapy method often used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health difficulties, such as low self-esteem, past neglect and self-critical thoughts about oneself. The method involves asking the client to focus on one or more memories while performing bilateral eye stimulation. The technique aims to facilitate the processing of memories that have a negative impact. The aim is to reduce the client's negative self-image and promote a more positive view of themselves.
Couples counselling
For many years I have been involved in couples therapy and family counselling. I aim to create a space where both parties can express themselves and increase their understanding of improving their relationship. Usually challenges in relationships are about difficulties in communication, infidelity, lies, and difficulties openly discussing feelings. Over time, we forget what attracted us to become a couple.
By focusing on communication and language, we can approach each other anew. I emphasize exploring and understanding emotions, both one's own and the ability to acknowledge and understand the other's feelings. The goal is to create increased trust and openness to each other again where you can both rediscover the factors that once made you fall in love and want to become a couple.

Motivation
I chose to join Lavendla because I am passionate about helping people who are struggling with mental health problems. I know that my experience and knowledge as a psychotherapist can help people with their mental illness.
My advice
- The starting point in therapy is that everyone is doing their best. Therapy is about finding the desired direction, where we understand and can improve what we want to achieve, or the support we need.
- All feelings are valid. We need to understand them and know how to see them as a power instead of an obstacle.
- All people go through crises, sorrows and difficult choices in life. Sometimes things don't turn out the way we planned. It's ok to talk about it and be vulnerable. It is a part of life. By talking about the difficulties, we can get a better perspective on how to look at life going forward.
"Being fully aware of the present without judgement - that is the fundamental goal of therapy" - Marsha M. Linehan

Compassionfocused therapy (CFT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) is a therapeutic method that focuses on developing and strengthening compassion, both towards oneself and others. The method is designed to help individuals deal with critical self-perceptions, shame/guilt. CFT is particularly useful for people who have major problems with shame and self-criticism. By exploring and changing the negative self-concepts, the therapist aims to promote a more compassionate and accepting self-image. Therapy may include exercises such as visualisation to help the client create an inner atmosphere of compassion and calm.
